Meet Our Board

Laura Graceffa

Board Member

Over a thirty year career in schools, Laura served as a middle school science teacher and held leadership positions as department chair and middle school division director at Poughkeepsie Day School. She relocated to the Capital District when named Head of School at Robert C. Parker School, from which she recently retired.

She has served on several boards, among them, The Woodhall School in CT, and the Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum. In addition to RISSE, Laura volunteers as an alum of Vassar College, and serves as a commissioner for accreditation with the New York State Association of Independent Schools. She lives in Albany with her husband, Mark, and enjoys spending time with their two adult children who also live in Albany.

Laura is the great-granddaughter of immigrants from Italy, and believes that continuing the tradition of welcoming those from other nations is vital.
